So, I’m Joe. And I’m here to tell you a little story about the time I tried to hang a picture in my apartment.

I was feeling all DIY and decided to tackle this project on my own. I grabbed my trusty stud finder and started scanning the wall.

Low and behold, I couldn’t find a single stud. I mean, I knew they were there, but my stud finder wasn’t picking up anything.

I tried different spots on the wall, different angles, even tried tapping the wall to see if I could hear any differences in sound. But nope, nothing. I was starting to get pretty frustrated at this point. I mean, how hard could it be to find a stud?

So, I decided to take a break and do a little research. And you know what I found out? That my stud finder was a piece of crap.

A total dud. And that there are actually a few different ways to find a stud without a fancy stud finder.

The easiest way to find a stud is by using a combination of tools, including a hammer, a small drill bit, and a level.
